Final focus system for injection into a laser plasma accelerator

چکیده
ARES is an electron linear accelerator at the SINBAD facility DESY. It aims to deliver reliable high-brightness beams with energy in range of 100 150 MeV fs sub-fs bunch lengths. This ideal for injection into novel high-gradient acceleration devices, such as dielectric laser accelerators and laser-plasma (LPAs), which feature fields ps period. Here, we report conceptual design a final focus system injecting LPA experiment ARES. The includes permanent magnetic quadrupoles (PMQ), sufficient longitudinal space collinear transport, required diagnostics setup. performance evaluated by means start-to-end simulations linac, focusing system, LPA, including sensitivity studies relevant error sources.
